Collection and storage of personal data as well as type and purpose of their use

Velocity processes personal data that you provide when you create an account in the Velocity App or CCP menu, or that is created when you use the Velocity App or Services.

The legal basis for processing your Personal Data for this purpose is the fulfillment of our obligations to you, i.e. the provision of our services (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO).

In order to perform our services, Velocity may also process your personal data (all categories of personal data as described above) to comply with laws and regulations or to comply with a court order (in which case the legal basis is a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) DSGVO)), or to protect the rights of Velocity or third parties, e.g. by defending, exercising or establishing legal claims (in which case the legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the rights of Velocity or third parties (Art. 6(1)(f) DSGVO).

When visiting the platform

When you access our platform, the browser used on your terminal device automatically sends information to the server of our website. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file. The following information is collected without your intervention and stored until automated deletion:

  • Time of access,
  • Name and URL of the retrieved file,
  • Website from which the access is made (referrer URL),
  • The browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer as well as the name of your access provider.
  • The aforementioned data will be processed by us for the following purposes:
  • Ensure smooth connection establishment of the platform,
  • Ensuring comfortable use of our platform,

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest follows from the data collection purposes listed above. In no case do we use the collected data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person. In addition, we use cookies and analysis services when you visit our website. During registration

For the fulfillment of contracts concluded with you, personal data are collected and stored. This includes name, gender, age and address, which are necessary for your identification as a customer with us. You also create a password, set a PIN and enter your email address. We store this data because it is necessary for the use of the bikesharing system and for communication between you and us, as well as for the technical and organizational improvement of the products and processes. Upon written request, we will be happy to inform you about the data stored about you.

For the registration of minors over 16 years of age, a photocopy or scan of the user’s ID and both legal guardians/legal representatives must also be sent. We need these for the matching of the data entered during registration and the associated verification of a legally secure contract with minors, for whom the legal guardians/legal representatives are liable.

In order to process our payments, your bank details, the payment amount due and the invoice number will be passed on to our bank.

When verifying the mobile phone number in the course of registration, it is transferred to the service of the US company twilio Inc. handed over. Twilio will send an SMS to your specified mobile number, asking you to reply to it via SMS. If you reply to this SMS (and twilio receives your reply) this is considered as successful verification.

For each trip made, we store the start and end time as well as the start and end station. On the one hand, we need this information for the creation of the monthly invoice, and on the other hand, you can view and check your trip history in the customer menu at any time in this way.

When registering for our newsletter

When subscribing to our newsletter, provided that you have given your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO, we will use your e-mail address to send you our newsletter on a regular basis. To receive the newsletter, it is sufficient to provide an e-mail address.

Unsubscribing is possible at any time, for example via a link at the end of each newsletter. Alternatively, you are welcome to send your unsubscribe request at any time to info@velocitymobility.com.

When using our contact form

For questions of any kind, we offer you the possibility to contact us via a form provided on the platform. In doing so, it is necessary to provide a valid e-mail address and name so that we know from whom the request originates and so that we can answer it. Additional information can be provided voluntarily. The data processing for the purpose of of contacting us is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO on the basis of your voluntarily given consent. The personal data collected by us for the use of the contact form will be automatically deleted after completion of your request.

Hubspot (form submissions)

Velocity Mobility is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We only use your personal information to manage your account and to provide you with the products and services you have requested. From time to time we would like to inform you about our products and services and other content that may be of interest to you. You can unsubscribe from these notifications at any time.

Location data

Velocity needs to process personal data for GPS tracking purposes for the performance of its contractual obligations to Customers and the provision of the Services. The processing is based on DSGVO Art. 6, (1), lit. b and f. Reconstruction of the location of the rented vehicle based on the sent GPS data will be carried out exclusively in the following cases and for the following purposes:

  • In case of termination of the lease not caused by the user, e.g. in case of unusually long period of use in the interest of the user and the provider
  • In the context of service requests during use (e.g. booking cannot be terminated, vehicle cannot be located, assistance in the event of an accident).
  • Evidence in the event of a claim: In the event of an accident or other claim, such as damage to the vehicle.
  • Location determination at intervals, for tracking lost or stolen vehicles
  • Improving availability: anonymized evaluation of locations where users have already made bookings in order to optimize the distribution of vehicles
  • To enable the integration of a “free floating” system

Data sharing

Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties for purposes other than those listed below. We will only share your personal information with third parties if:

Right to confirmation and information

According to Art. 15 DSGVO, you have the right to request information about your personal data processed by us. Right to rectification
